A good new punk band is Rancid. I got them confused with the clash when I heard their song "Ruby Soho." Then I googled it and realized it was Rancid.

Rancid is well-known old punk band. I think that everyone of radio dj's know them.
I don't think that Rancid is a new-punk band - they started in 1991 and they play more like Clash (like you wrote) or Sex Pistols than like Blink or Green Day.

Personally I don't like they music. Bad Religion is much better.
